Now that OJ has returned to the news with his parole hearing, it seems that the media is stricken by him. When OJ’s first criminal trial is discussed, all that seems to be said is that the defense capitalized on prosecution mistakes. Not mentioned is the primary cause of problems, the trial judge. I blame the Presiding Judge for assigning a judge who never tried a criminal case before, much less a high profile murder case as this was. The trial judge allowed the media to broadcast the trial, and he took advantage of the TV coverage to promote himself instead of being a trial judge. I watched the trial, and it was a shameful thing to watch this judge behave, yet you do not hear a word about that.
